Dusk

At dusk we lit some candles and built a fire. My father roasted wild salmon for our guests. We heated up the sauna. Fortunately the seawater didn't need heating.

Hämärän laskeutuessa sytytimme kynttilöitä ja nuotion. Isä loimutti vieraille Muoniojoesta pyytämäänsä lohta. Lämmitimme saunan. Merivettä ei onneksi tarvinut lämmittää.

Finally it was so dark that we had to put away our cameras. Some of us danced in the candle light, the rest of us took a sauna, swam and sat by the bonfire. We saw some glow-worms, and a couple of bats flew over our fire. It was heavenly to relax after a year of planning the event. We will never forget our beautiful day.

Lopulta tuli aivan pimeää, ja kamerat oli laitettava laukkuun. Osa tanssi lyhtyjen valossa, loput saunoivat, uivat ja istuivat nuotion ääressä. Näimme muutaman hehkuvan kiiltomadon, ja pari lepakkoakin lensi nuotion yli. Tuntui taivaalliselta levähtää vuoden suunnittelun jälkeen. Emme koskaan unohda kaunista päiväämme.
